Ronda LaRue's work as a poetic ceremonial artist has gained recognition in shows and private collections throughout the U.S. and abroad. She is perhaps best known for her ceremonial work creating personal life masks (which gained recognition when she created a series of life mask portraits of world- renowned ceramicist, Ms. Beatrice Wood ("Beato") at the age of 100. Beato was so pleased with her impish likeness that she honored Ronda's work by agreeing to a 2-person show including a new series of drawings by Beato alongside Ronda's Life Masks. Ronda's work as master mask maker gained further national attention when she was interviewed by the Home & Garden TV network in the 90's. See DVD for more. In the late 90's Ronda's art evolved into a series of large public installations: Remote Voyeur - where the outside of her home became the canvas of a large mural depicting scenes of our fascination/obsession with the life of celebrity and scandal and the loss of intimacy and relatedness Dreaming The Unveiling - a large walk-through labyrinth walk of dimly lit sheer sheets, back -lit white masks floating in the air against a back-drop of mirrors, your own face reflected, and a contemplative song-cycle and meditative inquiry. An Altar to Human Waste/Fullness - a Fanciful "in your face" commentary sculpture created using a portable toilette made into a sanctuary altar. Click here to see this piece. Ronda's eclectic work as an artist spans across 4 broad areas:
