Amazing Grace:

A Prayer of Release from Addiction and Control

Divine Intelligence, the very source and fabric of life and this, my breathing,
I beseech you awaken me. I ask for your guiding hand – I ask that my own devises no longer deny or confuse your Desires to move, free, in me. I seek to awaken. I seek to know love and to express the fullness of Being. I seek to be alive – truly alive. I seek to live in the Current of Living, anew and anew -- each moment budding with deeper awareness, revelation and presence.

Great Poet of Life, that which is forever before the Word and the Naming,
I beseech you wash over me. Wash clean my need of addiction and its stale deadly breath, and fill me instead with the breathing of You. Lift me from these, my feeble pools of stagnation, and heal me in the mere sighting of you. Wash over me with fresh waters of Truth, and take me into your Tide, that I may with-stand the Awesome Glory of You.

Most Omnipotent Presence, the Source of all things imagined and unimaginable, known and unknowable,
I beseech you quicken me. Incline my ear to your voice and my actions to your bidding. Let me willingly let go old habits of control and self-protection. Let me see myself as I truly am. Let me acknowledge Truth and shine with simple humility in your Good Company. Let my addictions be released that I may stand in your grace and be radiant in your Living Presence.

Pure and Infinite Potential, That which is seeking to become,
I beseech you claim me to your Sacred Heart. Take my life, your vessel, and impregnate me with your Living seed of intent. Let me feel all of You moving in me; let me deny or hide from no thing. Let us couple in such a sweet and tender commingling: the Lover to the Beloved. Let our great forces merge into a surrendering: your omnipotence rejoicing in my contained reflection of You!
