 LISTENING ROOM

The Listening Room holds original songs by Ronda LaRue, composed as acts of cultural witness and personal soul-essence recognition.

These works range from lyrical ballads and poetic reflection to driving, rhythmic songs shaped by lived experience, social awareness, and deep listening.

Songs for Listening, Curation, and Commissioned Work

Public & Cultural Songs

Works written to live in the world — socially, culturally, and psychologically — without functioning as autobiography.

Soul-Essence Portrait Songs

Relational works shaped from a specific human life, relationship, or essence, whether named or anonymized.

Allegorical & Socio-Operetta Songs

Symbolic, type-driven, or comic-tragic works that explore human behavior under pressure through exaggeration, roles, or invented worlds.

Threshold Songs

Songs that live at moments of crossing — endings, beginnings, dissolutions, and arrivals — without explaining or resolving them.

UNDER RECONSTRCUTION

                     Zen Take

A buoyant, theatrically playful spiritual song — riffing on call/response choral church music with Queen-scale humor, Zen patience, and unapologetic lift. A Zen Operetta style take on the classic church song "What a Friend we have in..."

An elegant, formally composed song of maternal devotion and endurance — inward, restrained, and resolved into a quiet, lived wholeness.

On My Count

A fiddle-driven line-dance song with wit and sass — grounded in rhythm and self-timed authority, carried by ease, humor, and embodied confidence.

CURATORS:

Many of these songs are offered publicly as complete works and are available for editorial consideration, broadcast, and curated listening contexts.  Others point toward a private practice of commissioned Soul-Essence songs created through deep listening and long-form mentoring exchange.

PERSONAL:

Where appropriate, I offer a private, depth-based process of listening and exchange through which a lyric and song may emerge—crafted to reflect and awaken a person’s essential life-current back to them. This work unfolds as part of the continuing evolution of my SoulArts private practice.

Many of the songs shared here were originally composed in response to a specific person’s moment, readiness, and lived experience. While shaped for one life, such songs often carry a wider field of recognition—available to others through resonance rather than explanation.

This work is offered by inquiry only.
If something here signals recognition, you are welcome to reach out.
